Austin + Hill Country 90 Minute Non-Stop Tour

Doug was THE BEST GUIDE!!! This was our favorite activity in Austin. We got a full view of the city, saw Barton Springs, great tour of hill country, and all in a convertible van with Doug as our guide! Highly recommend!!!

A no nonsense 90 minute guided trip without any stops. Michael our driver and guide was not a local but had a good knowledge, so would never have known. As well as the talk, there was audio recording to give us extra information and bring it to life.

Excellent tour guide. He provided a great, informative tour and clearly loves what he does. We’d take another tour with him again!

Our tour guide gave us a great overview of Austin and added information to the canned descriptions. He was funny and engaging and made sure we had great food recommendations for the rest of our trip. The sights were beautiful and I filled my phone with lots of pictures and memories.

Phenomenal staff. Upon check in there were friendly smiles, clean bathrooms and a great gift shop. The tour guide was very informative and helpful. I took the extended version and I highly recommend it. Austin is like several little cities all around a city. The trip was so speedy but lots of information packed in.

We had a great time on our tour. It was a good combination of recorded and the guide sharing. We had an excellent guide. He was very knowledgeable and personable. It was nice to get a good overview of the city and also see outside the city especially since we didn’t have a car. We enjoyed our tour.

Super-great! I traveled here for business conference and had some time in the afternoon - taking this tour makes me want to come back on a personal vacation with a guest, as I was able to see that there's lots to experience in Austin! The van we traveled in was extremely clean and comfortable, and our driver was really friendly.

Excellent comprehensive tour of Austin. The tour went first to the fringes of the city giving us a panoramic view of how it is situated among lakes, waterways and spectacular countryside. Then we were treated with a neighborhood by neighborhood ride through the city nd university. It was well narrated with just the right amount of information - history and current - and by both a prerecorded, well produced recording of two people interacting, and our tour guide interjecting during pauses and to answer questions. I routinely take such a tour when arriving in a city in order have an overview before going out on my own. This is one of the better ones. I highly recommend it - comfortable, well accommodated van carried a perfect smallish group.

Corey was the best guide!! Very nice comfortable ride and took us by many interesting spots. Parking garage right around the corner. Book directly with AO Tours and it save you some $$, my advice.

This is a great 90 min tour of Austin. The van was comfortable and air conditioned. Our driver, Jordan, was great. As we were driving thru the neighborhoods of Austin, he added his own thoughts and personal history to the commentary that was playing during the tour. Best part of the tour- driving thru the Austin cemetery! I highly recommend this tour for those who don't have a lot of time in Austin but want to see a lot of the city.

Doug was our tour director and was so very informative. Some of us got rid of the earbuds and only listened to him. He provided choices for our group as far as the walking, taking into consideration the group's ability. He also let our group decide when to open the convertible top. We'd use him and AO Tours again.

Can I give this tour six out of 5? A true whistle-stop tour of Austin and Hill Country, with an excellent introduction to this beautiful city, its history & future, and stunning views from Hill Country. Our tour guide was Doug, knowledgeable, funny and a safe driver. His commentary, anecdotes and tips of where to go for food, nightlife and more were spot on. I had originally planned to do a more localized walking tour (but didn't due to timing issues) and I'm glad I did the AO Austin and Hill Country tour instead as it gave me a better introduction and understanding of the city and what it has to offer - and has added lots to my "must see & do" list, much of which I may have remained unaware of without the tour. Thank you Doug for a brilliant 90 min introduction to this amazing city. Please note: this tour does not have any photo (or other) stops but you will have great views from the minibus.

The Library, it is amazing! With beautiful walking space right across the street. Also Doug the driver was a great host, a little bit of historical data with current history of each section of town and interlaced with some funny personal stories. Glad I went!

The tour was amazing - gave us a great perspective of the many sides of Austin from the stunning hills in the West to the best food trucks in the east. Bus was brand new and very comfortable and the driver made sure we weren’t stuck in traffic wasting the tour. Would highly recommend doing this early in your trip to get your bearings.

The tour guide Ms. Ari was awesome. My family enjoyed the bus trip. Very helpful staff(Mary) when called for the parking information and even during the last minutes arrival call I made she made communication to the guide that we were there and waiting at the bus instead we supposed to be at their visitor center. The fact that my family in Clarksville and our family church Sweetheart are mentioned on this tour. I was born and raised in Austin but moved in high school. I learned a lot about the history and beauty of my hometown.

It was my first time in Austin, so I wanted to see the full city and this tour was great. Tour guide had good energy and the vehicle was comfortable! I only gave it a 4 because there was no glass ceiling on the vehicle I got on ... I was a tad disappointed, but the views were amazing! I did the non-stop, so I'm sure the other option is amazing.

Dow was our tour guide. He is a native Texan and knew so many unique things besides the highlights of Austin. The vehicle was warm and comfortable with large windows for easy viewing, the audio was clear, Dow was open to questions and interested in where the guests were from. Even though the weather was chilly with a light rain, the tour was great!!

I was in town for a meeting and had time to spare. Not knowing the city of Austin at all I decided the tour would be a great way to get a good overview. It was 90 minutes with both narration by recording and information from the driver/host. I thoroughly enjoyed the time and what I learned about Austin. It made me want to return to actually enjoy what the city has to offer.

Sunday's tour, Austin +Hill Country 90-minute Non-Stop was very nice. I think our guide was Kim and she explained all areas as we drove past with exciting views. I had been waiting for a long time to see the Pennybacker bridge and I finally got my wish. The van was kind of uncomfortable since it was smaller than the larger Mercedes black van with open top. Overall, I would recommend this day trip. Thanks go to our knowledgeable guide.

The whole experience was effortless from the booking, finding the pick up spot and completing the tour. Our guide was a native of Wisconsin but claimed Austin her home of 20 years. She maneuvered our Mercedes van through a busy downtown and winding hill roadways safely and timely so we could get the most from the experience. I’ll be using this company in the future. Keep Austin Weird!

This was my first Austin and Hill Country Tour. The tour guide did an excellent job of accommodating his guests and sharing little known facts. State Highway 165 is such a fact. It is the shortest or one of the shortest highways in Texas, flows through the Texas State Cemetery/Texas Arlington located in East Austin. Who knew!!

Kim was fun and add some local info to enhance the presentation. She made sure we were all comfortable and enjoyed the experience.

Kimberly does a great job accommodating the entire group. Her knowledge of Austin and surrounding areas were very helpful. I really enjoyed the local perspective to help us navigate the city.

Our tour guide Ari was very enjoyable and gave great advice and insight about the city. What I loved most about this tour was that it gave us a chance to see not just downtown, but some of the hill country, suburbs, and other places that you otherwise would have never gotten to see if you were only spending your trip downtown. This was the PERFECT way to start our 4-day vacation in the city, and I would highly recommend it to anyone going to Austin as a tourist.

Tour guide and his excellent presentation. We enjoyed all the sights he pointed out and the accompanying tape. The tour was interesting and gave us ideas of places we wanted to explore further.

I was in Austin for a weekend and this was a great way to see the City/Hill Country with the time I had. Our guide Joel was extremely knowledgeable of the area and gave a lot of interesting historical insight and suggestions on places to visit after the tour. The drive through the hill country was also wonderful, lots of amazing views of the hills and city in the distance.

We love these tours in every city we visit - this one was particularly fun, van very comfortable as it was hot in Austin even in March! Our guide was great, we all connected and had a lot of good conversation and saw so much of the city sites. Really got a good sense of the area and this helped us plan the rest of our sight seeing for our trip. Recommend it highly!

I and my family are happy that we took the city tour. The guide gave us a good insight into the vibrant Austin. Austin east west north and south all have their own distinct identity. Unfortunately we took this tour on the day of the return. I recommend this to be taken on the first day of your first time visit to Austin so that you can plan better. "Loved the tour! Quick, prompt, quality. The bus is really new, clean, and the windows are also clean!!(most tour buses usually have dirty windows). Really sweet and knowledgeable guide, took her time to explain/tell information that was interesting for us. "If you are new to Austin and want an overview of the area, this is the tour to take. It is about 90 minutes long, and our tour guide Andrew was well-informed, friendly and interesting. The starting point of this tour is difficult because there is so much construction going on around the Visitors Center. Once we parked in the suggested pubic parking lot (only $5 flat fee) we walked around looking for the meeting place at the Visitors Center. I called the tour company and spoke to Mary, who was extremely friendly and helpful, and she led us to the spot. Thanks to Andrew and Mary for a very pleasant morning touring Austin."
