The Austin Visitor Center Has Moved – 03/2025
Austin is a city that thrives on creativity, history, and community, and now, the Austin Visitor Center has a new home that embodies all of these qualities. After 10 years at its previous location, the Visitor Center has officially moved to the beautifully restored historic Phillips Building at 103 E. 5th Street. This relocation marks an exciting new chapter for Austin tourism, offering visitors an enhanced experience in a space that reflects the city’s unique character.
A Historic Landmark with Modern Amenities
The Phillips Building, originally constructed in 1897, has a rich history as a former home to the Benson Motor Company, an early Austin automobile dealership. Now, this City of Austin Historic Landmark has been revitalized to serve as a dynamic gateway for visitors. The new Visitor Center combines historical charm with modern amenities, including:
- A cozy coffee shop, 5th & Brew, perfect for a quick pick-me-up.
- Vibrant interior murals by local artists Zuzu and Mila Sketch.
- A versatile meeting space for live music and community events.
- A curated gift shop featuring local artisans and Austin-themed souvenirs.
- Convenient luggage storage for travelers exploring the city.
